Dr Allen Turnbull specialty area is lower limb, sports injuries and arthritis, in particular joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee and arthroscopic ligament reconstructive surgery of the lower limb.

He is experienced in the latest innovative procedures such as the new minimally invasive hip replacement and is currently on an international design and research team for hip prosthesis.

Dr Allen Turnbull is a member of the editorial board of Musculoskeletal Update. He attends many orthopaedic conferences as guest speaker and has had many of his works published in international orthopaedic journals

Dr Allen Turnbull graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1980. He completed his residency training at the St George Hospital and was then appointed to the Sydney Orthopaedic Training Scheme, which he completed in 1984. During his training, he was selected as the Australian-American Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellow. On completion of his training, he worked for two years as a Fellow in joint replacement at Baulkham Hills Private, Mater Misericordiae Hospital, the Sanitarium Hospital and St Luke's Hospital, Sydney.

He has had several publications in international orthopaedic journals, and has presented regularly at local, national and international orthopaedic meetings.

Dr Turnbull specialises in primary and revision joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery in the lower limb.
